Florida has always been a top vacation destination.  It has great weather and a laid back attitude.  Well Siesta Key embodies all of that and more.


Siesta Key is a barrier island  just off the coast of South West Florida.  It has been blessed with some of the whitest, powdery sand.  It is made of pulverized quartz, which is its secret to staying cool even on the hottest days.

Beach Fitness

One of the more popular activities is exercising on the beach.  This can be anything from a slow stroll to an invigorating run.  Bikes are also welcome and a lot of fun.

It brings a whole new experience to riding when your views are of the Gulf of Mexico rolling up the shore line.  The sound of the ocean has such a calming effect, and its a whole lot cheaper than therapy!  

Sarasota fl Restaurants

Some of the top restaurants in Sarasota are located on S.K.  Of course my personal favorite is the Daiquiri Deck.  The main reason would have to be the lovely frozen concoctions they serve.  But the food is good also.  My kids love the shark bites!

Siesta Key Village

When night time comes around, everyone heads to the Siesta Key Village. It's the main street of S.K.   There is shopping during the day, and restaurants and clubs at night.  You may just find yourself out way to late having a great time at Gilligan's Bar.  I know I sure did!    

Sarasota Shopping     

The stores in the Village range from T-shirt stores like the Beach Bazaar, to the high end clothing like Foxy Lady.  And of course if you want to venture off the island, Sarasota main land has some fabulous malls.  At least that is what my wife tells me!
