Siesta Key has some of the most
beautiful beaches in the world, but that doesn't mean you should not
explore some of the other Florida islands while on vacation. Siesta Key Beach OptionLido Key's bridge is located just down the road from Siesta's. If you have the time, it is well worth the drive. Lido's sand is similar to Turtles, but with a little more powder. My favorite thing about Lido is the rocks sticking out onto the beach. Now I know at first you may think rocks are not good on a nice sunny beach. Well good luck trying to convince my kids of that. The last time my wife and I took them out their, it was a hunt for who could catch the most baby crabs! You see, the little fish love the rocks for the protection it gives them from the bigger fish, and the crabs have found out. Most of the crabs are only three inches wide, and can't pinch you if they wanted to. But every now and again you will see a nice big stone crab. I would strongly suggest not picking those up, although I highly doubt anyone could catch them anyways. As soon as they spot you, they scurry under the closest set of rocks. It can be an adventure when you are maneuvering between the rocks, just be sure to check your footing. The rocks can be quite slippery, and some are even sharp. But all and all if you want to see some sea life with out having go diving, check it out. | |||
