Siesta Key Magic Moments

"Siesta Key is a magical vacation island."
From the moment you walk on the powdery white sand, every moment will be special in its own way.

But there are always those moments that are beyond special.  The ones you picture every time you think about your vacation!!

It wasn't easy to narrow 2007 down to just one.  But I would have to say its...

Siesta Public Beach

Taking the family to Turtle beach.  We didn't plan on going there.  Our original plan was to head to Siesta Key Public Beach.  The problem, it was a Sunday, in August, after 11:00.

You know what that means, no parking.  So we headed further south to the lesser known Turtle Beach.  It turned out to be just perfect.  My oldest daughter is in pre-K and learning about, I mean obsessed with shells.  She can tell you the difference between a single valve conch and a dual venting scallop.  (I think thats right, I'll have to ask her;-)

When she spied all the shells on the beach, she was in love.  And that is all it took to give her younger sister the shell bug.  The two of them spent the next hour finding and hording every shell in sight.

The next logical step of course was to dress up a sand castle with our new jewels.  So I helped them build a castle, and we decorated it to the max.

We didn't build the biggest or most sound castle.  But it was the flashiest, giggle induced one.

It was so nice watching my two girls work together on there kingdom.  My wife and I are very lucky.
